6 Ways to Make Money as a Homeschool Mum
Being a homeschool mum is incredibly rewarding, but it’s also a full-time job—often without the paycheck. The good news? There are plenty of flexible ways to earn income without compromising your family’s education or sacrificing the freedom homeschooling offers. You can create ways to make money as a homeschool mum that fits with your schedule.
Here are 6 practical income streams that fit perfectly into the homeschool lifestyle — ways that are realistic, family-friendly, and often can be done during nap times, quiet times, early mornings, or evening hours.

1. Blogging
One way to make money from home is blogging. If you love writing, desire a creative outlet, want to share your passions, and/or love helping others, then a blog could be a good fit for you.
To make money as a homeschool mum with a blog, it will require commitment, consistency and seeing it as a long-term option. Do not expect to be making a good income straight away. Do not let that put you off if you feel drawn to the idea of blogging.
Just get started and build from there. It can be very overwhelming to know what to do, how to run a blog and make money from a blog, as there is SO much information online for blogging as a career or hobby.

2. Matched Betting
When I was looking at ways to make money from home as a stay at home homeschooling mum, I wanted ways that were flexible and simple to fit around the family schedule.
I stumbled across matched betting a few times, but was hesitant for a while, as I didn’t understand it enough and thought it might lead to the world of gambling and create an unhealthy habit with money and gambling.
After some time, I read more into matched betting and decided to give it a go.
I am glad I did as I earned a little extra money to help with savings when moving house. I decided to go with Oddsmonkey as it has a great platform for learning, placing matched bets and had affordable options for signing up.

3. Surveys and Website Testing
This one was a surprise to me and has become a great way of earning extra money to support my family. Doing surveys and website testing can bring in a good chunk of income per month when signed up to a few platforms.
Website testing is easy and straightforward. It is a simple way to earn supplemental income from the luxury of home and being flexible around your schedule. It is low stress and requires less brain power to build a business…which has been a blessing for this busy homeschooling mama.
Length of time varies from 5 minutes to one hour if doing an interview call whilst someone from the company asks a series of questions related to a website. It’s fun and can pay very well for the long website tests.
Surveys are quick and easy, and can pay well too. Even if they pay as little as £1, $1 or $5, the more you do over the month, the more it adds up, and they are easy to fit into pockets of the day.
When you do a combination of the high paying website tests which I have done for $200 to the lower end surveys of $1, it all adds up by the end of each month. I’ve done this for over one year and still continue to do so as it fits my lifestyle as a homeschooling mum.

4. Selling Online
Selling online can be a great way to earn money from home alongside homeschooling your children. It can bring in a little extra income or be something more lucrative depending on what you sell online.
The beauty of selling online is you can do it from home and make it fit around your schedule. There are so many options as to what you can sell online and where to sell it online.
Ideas for what to sell online:
- clothing
- books
- toys
- beauty products
- health supplements
- DVD’s and CD’s
- comic books
- electronics
- digital products (eBooks, printables etc)
- coaching services
- membership programmes
- courses
You can also sell:
- second-hand items
- pre-loved and used items from your home
Platforms you can sell online from:
- eBay
- Vinted
- Etsy
- Amazon
- Own website
It can be overwhelming as a beginner to know what to sell online and where. Do a little homework to see what is selling well, what you can make, buy or resell, and just get started. You can adapt as you go and figure out what sells well and what doesn’t. Do not let fear get in your way, and just start selling something.

5. AI Tasking
This is a new(ish) one in the online world. Being an AI tasker may be the perfect answer for you, whether you’re looking for something with flexible projects or have the skills to get on projects with more regular income. It is worth looking into if you are more tech-minded.
I have used Outlier and find it a great platform for getting started with AI tasks when available and being able to use a variety of AI models to test out the different responses and the way they work in comparison to each other. It is great fun having access to the different AI models.

6. Online Coaching
Online coaching can be a great way to make money as a homeschooling mum. Before I had children, I did a lot of online coaching for my personal training and wellness coaching, and found that a great way to support my wellness business.
Since becoming a mum, my priorities have shifted and over the years online coaching has not been my go-to choice for business and making money from home. However, it still works beautifully for some mums, whatever the type of coaching service.
If you have children at home whilst providing coaching services then it is wise to create a schedule that fits around the children to avoid interruptions with clients. Also, it depends on the type of coaching service – are you making phone or video calls? Texting? Emailing? Making videos? Providing online resources to be posted on social media or private membership forums?
There are many ways to do online coaching and ways to make it fit around having children in the home as a homeschooling mum. If coaching is your thing, then don’t give up, keep tweaking to find a way that helps you to help others whilst also being there for your kiddies!
I provide online coaching for nutrition and wellness.
